Mijn probleem

My phone got dropped at the airport and cracked the upper left corner of just the glass, still worked fine, but I researched changing the glass only and most of the feedback indicated that you'd damage the digitizer in the process so I opted to order the screen and digitizer assembly. My wife had dropped her phone sometime earlier and damaged the screen and digitizer and the phone display would flicker and had strange color bands, so I ordered the screen, digitizer, and midframe assembly for hers.

Mijn oplossing

I fixed my wife's phone first and it was pretty much plug and play - just a matter of transferring the components over from the back side of the phone.

On mine I had to separate both sides of the phone from the midframe and during the disassembly tore the ribbons for the back and menu buttons. So i had to order a new usb module and wait. I even tried taking apart the screen from my wife's damaged midframe assembly to see if I could salvage the USB module from it and tore one of the ribbons in the process even though I was extremely careful to use playing cards to separate the screen from the frame.

Mijn advies

Had i known it was so prone to damage I would have just ordered the same screen, digitizer, and midframe for mine and saved a lot of time and frustration.

But on the bright side, I learned a lot in the process and I'm not afraid to take apart a phone anymore....
