Mijn probleem
My phone was on its way out....or so I thought. I mean it's a couple of years old, been seriously manhandled by my darling 16-month-old, choppy bluetooth, GPS connectivity, battery issue, the usual stuff. I like to tinker around and see if I can get a couple more years from phones (I once did a heat sink mod for my lg g3. Loved the process and I loved that phone, but sadly it got run over by a car. Yeah, I know. Hello wife's iPhone!). Did some research and found that the iPhone 6 are plagued with battery and wifi/gps issues. And since I use Waze a lot, it was infuriating to see the phone searching for a gps signal in vain. Most of the posts suggested changing the wifi flex cable should fix the gps/wifi issue but I went ahead and swapped the gps module as well. And wow, it worked like new.
Mijn oplossing
I saw a couple of YouTube videos and the ifixit repair instructions. The ifixit repair instructions should suffice (it's really descriptive with crisp images at every step of the procedure), the YouTube videos are for confidence. I mean it might seem daunting at first but it actually is quite simple. A couple of hiccups here and there (especially with the placement of screws) but otherwise smooth. Swapped the battery out as well.
Mijn advies
It may seem hard to do at first but after watching a bunch of videos and sort of memorizing the process, it's really simple. As an added perk, you will get to admire the engineering and the thought process that goes into making these beautiful devices. I got really ambitious after this repair that I went and replaced the cracked screen on my old iPhone 4s!
