Lucky iPod Nano 5th Gen gets new life with new screen!
Mijn probleem
Replace glass panel
Mijn oplossing
The repair went fairly well. I am naturally nervous about messing with my electronics. This iPod has been through the washer 3 times and left on the city bus 3 times. I wanted to finally replace the glass. The prying tool seemed a bit thick for the nano but I was able to remove the broken glass without the tool. I used it to make sure the glass was installed correctly. Unfortunately the cable that operates the lock button came loose. I am not sure I can fix it, but I am checking iFixit to see if there is a part I can buy. Also, the bezel was a bit difficult to put back into place. I would recommend including some adhesive to glue the bezel back down for older models. Other than the lock button not working, my nano looks like new with its screen.
Mijn advies
Be careful with the bezel and the lock switch cable. Depending on the age of the nano, wear and tear, etc, that bezel may not go back in as easily as it came out.
