Mijn probleem
My battery started reading only 100% then die on me. That was about a month ago and I figured I did something to throw the battery calibration out of whack so I would drain it let it sit and then fully charge it again. Took about 3 times and it appeared to work again for a while that is. About a week ago it started draining a an accelerated rate and then die at about 58%. So I started looking for a way to repair the battery and prices were almost $300 bucks. But I stumbled upon this site and thought I would give it a try seeing I did not have much to loose.
Mijn oplossing
Followed the repair guide and it went very well. I did end up breaking one of the command strips that hold the battery in place and that had me a little nervous but start to finish including draining my battery took about 30 minutes, and I was being a little more anal retentive then I usually am when working on electronics.
Mijn advies
I bought a magnetic board to place the screws on and that was in my opinion the best thing I could have done. Because I was not spending $300 I opted to buy some of the extra tools because I have kids and foresee doing this or other repairs on iPhones before too long. I got the suction cup clamps, that are pretty much the greatest thing since sliced bread when it comes to working on your phone. The heat pack kit which the only thing I needed to use this time was the cards, a tweezer kit from amazon along with the magnetic board. I also used a head lamp for better lighting. The screws are small! I mean really small. They are almost to the point of trying to do open heart surgery on a gnat small. The magnetic board is also a white board with grid squares that I labeled with the sizes listed on the guide and I am glad I did because trying to remember where each one goes even though it is only 9 screws is only possible if you can actually see them.
