Mijn probleem
Battery was swelling and making the LCD screen have rainbow streaks.
Mijn oplossing
Started off easy by ordering the new battery. Upon receiving the battery I was able to easily open the iPhone 5 following the directions. The new battery did not work. Took the phone apart again to put old battery back in it and dropped 3 screws losing them. Took hours of calling to reach support. Once support was on the phone everything was taken care of immediately. I was able to order a screw kit for the missing screws and another battery was shipped to me at no additional charge. The new-new battery went in smooth and works wonderfully. Would have been less than 3 days and more like 15 minutes if I did not have to get a replacement battery for the defective one.
Mijn advies
Have a magnet handy to do your loose screws onto to avoid losing them. Keep the magnet a safe distance from the iPhone as it may cause damage. Be EXTREMELY CAREFUL when taking the screen off as the ribbon cables are sensitive and can easily break. There is little room for movement of the screen.
