Phone VS Car... DON'T try this at home.

A customer of mine called one afternoon to tell me a tale, "I was at the servo and placed my phone on top of the car while I refueled. Then I went in to pay the bill and forgot about the phone. I drove off and didn't remember until I got home. Upon returning to the servo to check for my phone I found it in the gutter completely crushed, screen shattered to bits, back case mashed. Not sure if you can fix it but could you give it a go?" To which I replied, "definitely not going to make any promises on this one, but I'll see what I can do.

Mijn oplossing

So, I ordered in the repair parts, New Screen, Charger Port and touch buttons, Front camera, Rear camera, Mid frame, Back case. In fact, I needed to give this a full rebuild, it amazed me that the motherboard was intact—but it must have been protected by the other layers.

The guides were brilliant, Made the repair go really smoothly. All repaired and the client was able to retrieve their data upon completion. THANKS IFIXIT! One day I will get around to a contribution effort.

Mijn advies

Biting off more than you can chew can sometime get you stuck. I was lucky this time but for the one-off repairer it would definitely be a better option to pass this over to a professional.
