Mijn probleem

I got the phone free off a friend as he shattered the glass when he dropped it. I've had a Nexus 4 for a while but wanted to try a Windows Phone, so when he told me he was throwing it away I asked if I could have it.

Mijn oplossing

I ordered some parts off eBay, and started working. The video at the top of the guide explains pretty much everything, so there weren't any real problems.

However, the repair kit I ordered came with a pre-cut bio adhesive. In retrospect, I will order a thin strip of double sided tape, because the pre-cut stuff didn't really work out very well, as the cuts were not deep enough. (but then again, part of it was my stupidity).

Mijn advies

Getting the glue and glass separated and off the display assembly is A LOT harder and annoying than the video shows. Luckily the kit I ordered provided some glue-removal, but still. I highly, highly recommend fully wrapping the glass in duct tape, like shown in the video, and not just putting a small strip in the middle like I did.

Also, prepare to scratch off glue for at least half-an hour if not more. That $@$* sticks.
