Mijn probleem
Had my iphone plugged into a car charger and it began to get hot. Unplugged it, but it was too late, the phone kept on getting hotter and hotter. Eventually when the battery died the phone cooled down so I assumed something went wrong with the battery.
Mijn oplossing
I found the Ifixit webstie and watched the instructions on how to change the battery. They were fantastic. I ordered the parts and they arrived in my city the following day. The repair was as easy as it was shown on the video and in went the new battery. Unfortunately for me, this was not the problem with the phone. Some other short had developed in the circut board and the phone began to heat up again which ultimately caused me to have to go buy a new phone.
Mijn advies
Try to fix things yourself. It is amazing what you can do if you try and have a little guidance from someone like Ifixit. I was shocked how easy it was to take the phone apart and do the repair myself. If the problem was the battery it would have only cost me 1/8 the cost of a new phone (and 20 minutes of my time). I learned something new and the next time something breaks on me, I will have the confidence to try to fix it instead of just throwing it away.
