cheap fix for a poor college student

Mijn probleem

I had the compute freeze up, and when i went to reboot it acted like the hard drive was missing. my first thought was dang the hard drive failed. which is really weird for a 3 year old laptop. especially for a macbook. but then after researching i came across this issue. I still wasn't sure if it was the problem or not, and so i took it to the repair shop locally where they wanted 175$ to perform this replacement.

Mijn oplossing

The repair was very straight forward, when you but it with new everything that is. if i would have reused stuff it may have made it harder and the guide that you had online was very helpful and convenient. It took about 15 minutes to do and my macbook was ready to use again. thank goodness i didn't have the repair shop fix it, because you all made it cheap and gave great instructions on repairing it.

If you have this model apparently it is a common issue with it. its simple to fix, and it way cheaper than buying another macbook. Fixit is very helpful with detailed instructions on how to do it. So if you have the folder with the question mark pop up before you replace the hard drive or get rid of it. waste the money to try this fix.
