Mijn probleem
Several times during the day, when the power indicator showed around 40% the phone would just go dark. The only way to revive it was to plug into external power. When the phone did get back, batter level was equal to or greater than when it went dark. No help at Apple.com nor the local Verizon store (they wanted me to buy a new phone!)
Mijn oplossing
I read thru the repair and browsed the comments. Decided to follow one that had me not disconnecting the 3 cables in the upper right (camera, etc) I was able to disconnect he battery cable, pry out the battery and then replace it. Getting the battery connection remade was a bit frustrating but got it! Then after putting the top in first, buttoned it up.
It's been great ever since. I am mindful though about letting the battery discharge to below 10% before charging. So far, I feel I've returned to a decent life - almost all day (6:00am - 8:00pm) and after the phone does charge I get it off external power relatively quick. I use Batery Nirse to help out
