Mijn probleem

I cracked the screen on my wife's ipod last year. My new car has an ipod connector in the center console. The cord isn't long enough for the ipod to fit in the console storage, so I put it under the armrest. Then I rested my arm on the arm-rest. The ipod was cracked.

Mijn oplossing

The Ipod was harder to get open than I thought. Actually I used the Ipod repair tool like the ifixit photo guide showed. The ipod repair tool broke. Eventually I got the cover off and noticed that I broke part of the bracket that the screws went into. The rest of the repair went very smoothly and quickly. I noticed that the ipod repair tool would have been very useful at this point to open the connector clasps. Luckily I have strong finger nails and they worked just as well. Putting the thing back together went much faster.

Mijn advies

Don't use the small ipod repair tool to open the ipod. You will probably break it like I did. Fingernails can be better tools for opening the connector clasps than the tool anyway. Get the extra tool but don't break it!
