Mijn probleem
My iPhone 5 had been shutting off with 20% battery life or randomly. I performed battery calibrations but to no avail. I decided to replace the battery.
Mijn oplossing
Battery replacement was surprisingly simple. A steady hand accompanied by a well lit and quite room is really all you need. The tools provided in the battery replacement kit worked as expected. I did add a pair of tweezers and small magnet to my arsenal. I did find placing everything a white sheet of paper helpful. After completing the switch in around 15 minutes, I powered my phone and all was well. Tested my camera and a few other apps and I was off and running. Followed iFixit's advice to allow battery to drain to 10% and let charge completely to 100%. After a day or two, I noticed several strange happenings (phone powered off randomly, phone powered off when alarm was triggered). I preformed a battery calibration and it seems to have fixed the problem. Battery provided by iFixit seems to hold a good charge. I would say that I am happy enough with iFixit, but still can't say as to whether or not I trust the quality of the battery provided. Only time can tell.
Mijn advies
I cannot give iFixit my full endorsement because I still am unsure of the quality of the battery they provided. However, they did deliver a repair kit at a reasonable price in a timely matter with all the needed instruction. So, not sure what more I should expect for $30 bucks.
