Included Screwdriver will STRIP tiny screws

Mijn probleem

An aging iPhone 4s's battery wouldn't hold a charge for long; hopefully this one will last longer.

The repair went well after I discovered that the INCLUDED SCREWDRIVER is FAR TOO BLUNT and WILL STRIP TINY SCREWS. I HAD to use another one.

iFixIt REALLY needs to address this issue.

Mijn advies

The included screwdriver (PH#000) that I received is far far too blunt at the end so it won't get deep enough into the tiny screws (especially the lower one) to get enough bite to turn them without completely STRIPPING them. Luckily I had another PH#000 screwdriver that holding it up to the included one and comparing them was much pointier and could get deep enough into the screw that you can feel the solid bite. The screw came out easily. I'd recommend getting another screwdriver, same size but make sure it's POINTIER than the included one.

If you can't I suppose you could try filing the included one to a sharper point. There is a risk of not only stripping out the tiny screws using the included too-blunt screwdriver, but that the metal shavings could end up inside the phone.

The metal bracket wasn't a problem. I used a toothpick inserted through it and then into the screw hole to align it into position then snapped the battery connector back on and tightened down the screw using MY SCREWDRIVER NOT THE INCLUDED ONE.
