Mijn probleem

Rendering 3D robotics simulations, simulating advanced circuits electronics and switch between Windows and Mac OS X for various purposes, ended up in frying the airport card with overheat. I obviously wasn't buy a new laptop just because of this, and the repair on the apple store was just so inexplicably expensive. In the end im just glad iFixIt exists.

Mijn oplossing

The repair was easy and smooth, however i shouldn't have done a clean installation after the problem showed up. The OS didn't recognise the WiFi part of the airport because of the damage, Now i have to make another clean installation of the OS so the BIOS assigns a network port, usually WiFi port is the en0, my en0 port is assigned to Ethernet.

Mijn advies

If the problem shows up, order the part right away, and do it with iFixIt, there are other airport cards on eBay and similar, but only iFixIt guarantees you that is the exact same model as you need.

And please if you can fix it do it, keep your product's value and life span.
