Battery / Trackpad Replacement

Mijn probleem

Battery on 4 year old MacBook Pro 13in (Early 2011) would not hold a charge anymore. Trackpad was cracked and the cursor would sporadically go crazy when no one was touching the trackpad. Tried everything I could to fix, but nothing worked. I figured the battery must have been swollen, putting pressure on the trackpad.

Mijn oplossing

Very simple repair, only took maybe 30 minutes (and most of that was spend cleaning the dust out of the inside of my Mac). It's been 2 weeks now and both parts are working perfectly. Very happy with the results.

Mijn advies

A warning to any fellow Canadians out there, these prices seriously add up. The price of the parts was $190USD, and after shipping (ifixit only ships FedEx to Canada, got here in 2 days, but very pricey), tax, duty, and conversion fee, it was a little over $350CAD. Definitely something to keep in mind when ordering. I was really happy with the quality of the parts from iFixIt, and it will help extend the life of my Mac for hopefully a few more years, but next time I need parts I will probably look for another retailer in Canada, simply because the price from here was so expensive.
