Mijn probleem
My husband dropped his phone and shattered his screen. No other choice but to fix it myself.
Mijn oplossing
The iSclack tool was awesome. I'm going to repair a friend's phone, so I bought it. Took 1.5 hours start to finish, including my adhesive melting problem. I almost gave up then came up with a solution. I tore the copper shield that holds the ear piece connection set on. It did not mess up the repair.
Mijn advies
For melting the adhesive, if you don't have a special heat tool as shown in the tutorial, use a cloth bag filled with dried peas. Microwave the bag for 3 min and set on phone to release adhesive. Give it at least 2 minutes of heat. Be super careful peeling off the copper heat shield. That tore on me even though I was pretty careful. It did not interfere with the repair though- I just ignored it and stuck it back together during reassembly. Use a piece of paper with double sided tape to hold the screws in place in numbered squares that correspond with the tutorial. It was very helpful during reassembly. I purposely chose a white screen and kept the black home button for my repair. He had a black screen before.
