Pretty smooth repair - iPhone 3GS Battery

Mijn probleem

Black, striped vertical lines down the screen with the rest of the LCD clear. This tended to happen when the phone was really "thinking". Tried reloading the software, but finally landed on the battery as the culprit. Phone could barely go for 2 hours being idle.

Mijn oplossing

NOTE: See the attached diagram for help with removing Cable # 3. The repair went smoothly until cable #3. None of the videos or instructions gave a close enough view to fully explain what needed to be done. I've made an awesome diagram in MS paint that outlines the action required to successfully remove cable #3 from its socket. After I removed cable #3 it was smooth sailing. I used labeled plastic baggies for the screws, tupperware containers are good too if you can remember what's what. I used a flat-head jeweler's screwdriver to pry up the battery, started in the corners of the battery and pried around. Reassembly was a snap, seating the logic board was the only annoying part; not too bad.

Look at my diagram! Remember to flip the smalll cable retainer towards the TOP of the phone. If you are having trouble managing the little teeny screws then grab a magnet off of your fridge. Stick the magnet to the screwdriver for about 3 seconds and then take it off. The screwdriver will now easily pick up the screws for about a minute. Rinse & repeat.
