Replaced my MacBook Pro 13" Retina

Mijn probleem

I broke my macbook screen on a very dumb accident, the outside of the screen was perfect not a single scratch on it.

But when I turn on my macbook you can notice on the screen a huge crack that covers half of it.

I could never believe how fragile this laptop screen really is, so i will be more careful with it in the future.

And original screen replacement would cost double of what i paid to do it myself by buying everything from iFixit.

I was desperate to fix the screen when my accident happened, and the display was not available for almost three weeks on the ifixit website.

So i looked at other cheaper displays that are sold on ebay, but i didn't trust any of the items i saw there.

Finally when the item was back on stock i ordered it from i fix it.

Then my package arrived and at the moment i opened the package and check the inside of the package.

I was so glad on the decision i made to wait and buy the parts from i fixit.

The wrapping was so perfectly done so that the screen wouldn't suffer any damages from the transportation.

I just noticed that the screen doesn't have any protection when is not installed on the computer so it is more fragile to transport.

Mijn oplossing

The replacement guide from your website was very detail and perfect for a none experienced person to follow it.

I strongly suggest that anyone that needs to replace a macbook screen should buy the all parts and tools from the iFixIt website.

Mijn advies

The P5 pentalobe that i purchased from the iFixIt store is very delicate and doesn't reach all the depth of the screw hole.

You have to be extremely careful not to damage the screws from the outside. And if you damage the outside screws you will not be able to start the teardown.

Please improve the quality of the pentalobe tip so that it has a better fit on the apple outside case screws.
