My hard drive had completely crashed, needed to replace.

It was quick and easy, other than one hiccup in that my drive was a Seagate and I had ordered a Western Digital accidentally. However, iFixit was great about sending me the right drive, and I have sent back the prior one.

Mijn advies

It appears some people have problems with the temperature sensor. I found that by properly marking the wires, I had no issue reinstalling the heat sensor cable and having no issues with the fan. Again, felt the whole process was very easy and quick.

Also, to restore the drive with Mac OS X, luckily had been regularly backing up with Time Machine to a NAS, and so it was really easy to restore from a time machine image.
