Mijn probleem

Had the ipad 2 digitizer replaced a year or so ago at a shopping mall outfit. It worked but the new digitizer had some little annoying streaks and in time became detached. So instead of having redone by some one else, decided to do it myself.

Mijn oplossing

The repair went really well, even though the digitizer was already partially coming off, it still needed a good heat up to detach the remainder. The wifi antenna was damaged, and it seems to have been done by the previous repair. So in hind-site, I should have ordered the antenna at the same time I ordered the new digitizer, it is cheap enough, even if you don't need to use it. Clean up is important and take your time doing it, but reassembly goes together really fast. In fact the hardest job was cleaning the lcd screen from any fingerprints or smudges.

Once that was done it just closes up and thats it, done. I was sorely tempted to replace the batteries at he same time, but am quite confident that its something that can be done later when its really needed. Great suppliers of replacement parts and info on how to get the repair done.

Mijn advies

For the removal of any smears, smudges or finger prints, I found denatured alcohol diluted with water and applied with spectacle cloth to do the trick nicely and then all it needed was a gentle wipe with a dry spec cloth to polish off any residue. The denatured alcohol was also great for removing any remaining adhesive from the frame.
