Upgraded my phone to 6 plus so I gave my flawless 32G i5 to my wife to upgrade her from her sketchy 16G i5. Her old phone would do all kinds of weird things, plus the memory was full, so no music, no more pictures etc.
Moved everything over for her and placed in her thin case that she has been using for years. Less than 24 hours later, she got out of the car with the phone in her lap and bam, it hit the concrete on the corner shattering the glass. She doesn't get an upgrade for another 6 months so this seemed to be the best solution. Plus the battery needed to be replaced anyway, so did it all.
A little intimidating at first, but after reading the instructions and user comments it went pretty smoothly. Ordered both the full display kit and the battery. Used some good reading glasses to help with a bit of magnification, laid everything out on a white towel, spaced apart with the screws laid out like where they were removed from. Removing the battery required a bit of patience, but by prying in the 3 selected areas in the instructions over and over again, it started to work its way loose. So glad I bought the full display for a couple dollars more, so i didn't have to deal with more potential issues.
Magnifying glasses, white towel to layout, lots of light, time and patience. Buy the fully assembled display kit. Take your time with the ribbon cables as the alignment and reseating isn't always perfect.
BAM, like a new phone again!!
