What its like to scream at a cable

Mijn probleem

I was attacked by a ninja bear. It knocked my iPhone out of my hand while I was trying to call the police and tell them not to worry. It landed face down and shattered the screen. After putting the bear in a full nelson/arm bar combo, it tapped out and I could retrieve my phone.

Mijn oplossing

Extraction went well, tape had to be used and all the cables came off cleanly. I almost pulled the touchid scanner cable, so that was scary.

Everything went well, up until reconnecting the new camera/sensor cable. It took me a solid 15 minutes to get it lined up and clipped back in. All the others snapped in exactly like I expected, but this one little f***er just wouldn't clip. Eventually I got it using my fingers and the spudger (somehow) at the same time.

Mijn advies

1. If the screen is cracked, use packing tape.

2. Be very careful when pulling the screen up with the suction cup, there isn't much travel for the screen to do. And the cable wont just unclip, there is a metal clasp.

3. Try not to scream at the camera/sensor cable when reinstalling.

4. There are screws on the logic board and its very <b>very</b> important that they are not mixed. I found that using the box that came with the fix kit had enough little spaces that I could set the screws in and they wouldn't mix.
