iPhone 5s screen repair went well

Mijn probleem

I smashed my entire iPhone 5s screen.

Mijn oplossing

I went with the easier kit - the display assembly with the camera and all other front parts except the home button (that I transferred over from the broken screen as it had my touch ID).

The suction cup did not work - the screen was so cracked that the cup could get no hold on it. I tried one layer of tape on top, no luck. I tried a dozen layers of tape - still no luck. Finally I used a thin needle that I inserted into one of the bottom screw holes and used it to push UP the front screen sufficiently so I can get the spudger under. This worked. Use the left screw hole as there seems to be an indentation on that side of the screen that allows you to get the spudger under. The rest of the process went very smoothly.
