IFIXIT - helps DIY's undercut overpriced repair stores

I got my iPhone 5 back in 2012. For the last 8 months, my battery would last on standby for about six hours. If I was using the phone for any function, that battery usage lasted about an hour. Obviously, the battery storage life was shot. My phone, via the Apple website, was actually eligible, by serial number, for a free repair/replacement of the phone; however, this would have taken going to an Apple store (30 miles away) and they would have the device for a "few days." IFIXIT prices made it worth it to do myself.
The repair was seamless and effortless. There was more effort in backing my phone and app purchases up to my iTunes account than there actually was in replacing the battery. Total replacement time.... <10 minutes.
The initial phase of prying the screen off by the home button was the most difficult. After removing the pentolope screws, the space provided by pulling up with the suction cup is minuscule, but do not be afraid to get the pry tool in there and pry up. Once the initial end is open, the rest of the top comes off easly. Lastly, if this is the original battery being replaced, be prepared for the battery to be stuck to the case with adhesive strips.
