The phone was 'given a free flight lesson' and lost the capabilities of displaying the phone apps etc as expected after crash landing!

Yes I looked at Amazon for a cheaper alternative and yes I was tempted but quickly after reading the reviews of people that bought cheaper screen I was sure to get the screen from iFixit. The screen is great and the phone looks like brand new again with clear and bright colours and good contrast. The repair was very simple as long as you do not have to rush anywhere.

Follow the step-by-step guide and read each step carefully. Make sure you know exactly what screw goes where (for when you need to put your phone back together again) and take your time.

One of the steps mentions that you have to hold the screen carefully or the cable comes loose again. THIS IS TRUE! It happened to me; for a second I was afraid the screen was faulty but it was the cable as mentioned in one of the notes. Going through the repair steps again was simpler this time and after connecting the cables properly and checking the screen before closing the phone completely, I could see it all worked just fine.
