Mijn probleem
Display glass shattered. Still working, but the shattered glass made it difficult to use. Since the battery was low, decided to replace battery at same time.
Mijn oplossing
Repair worked - took about two hours.
Removing the shattered display was difficult and required patience. Applied tape to the display, but the suction cup did not work well. Had to remove tape and retape it - making sure tape was flat. Suction cup worked somewhat. Guitar pick helped to get the display removal started and then used plastic tool. Once display was out, the cable removal was not difficult.
Removing the battery required patience as well, because of the adhesive. Slow and gentle pressure to remove using the pull tab and plastic tool.
Installing battery was straight forward.
Installing new display was difficult. The cable attachment was tricky as the last cable was a little long and required a little more play to connect. Then the metal piece on top of the cable attachments needed to be carefully seated so that it was flush with the rest of the phone. Then the display reinsertion into the phone took patience and gentle installing because our iPhone frame was bent. So the plastic tool was used to gently pull back frame as the display was gently pushed in. This took some time as I was worried that the display would bend and break during the reinstallation.
Ultimately everything got put back together and the phone looks like new now!

Lots of patience.
Make sure cable attachments are in correctly. Would not want to take apart iPhone again to reattach cables.
