The repair was very easy. It took about 15 to 20 minutes. The hardest part was putting the 3 tiny screws back into the metal plate that covers the 3 ribbon cable connectors. The one that is not magnetized was a little hard to get back into the hole so it could be tightened. I did not encounter any of the problems mentioned in the various comments. I did put packing tape over the broken screen and think this may have helped it to not crack even more. Previously I replaced a battery in an iPhone 3Gs and this was much easier. The battery was much harder to do because the battery on the 3Gs is located under the circuit board and just about everything has to be removed to get to it. The display assembly is on top and there are only 5 screws and three ribbon cables involved.

Mijn advies

My advice is to buy the entire display assembly including the home button and front camera. That way you do not need to take the time (and effort) to remove and transfer these items. For $20 more it is well worth the savings in time and effort.
