no mention of screws, tools are flimsy, no latch on first ribbon cable

Mijn probleem

My ipod basically only worked when plugged in, and even in that case, if I left it in my car and it got cold, the battery would die so hard it would take half an hour of being plugged in before the device would turn on

Mijn oplossing

It's a good thing 2 of the same tool are provided because during the course of trying to remove the faceplate, the tool got bent and twisted beyond use. I ended up getting tiny bits of blue plastic from the tool inside my ipod.

The center button of the wheel came loose almost immediately and was tricky to line up and hold in place when lining up the faceplate during reassembly.

There was no mention that the faceplate was held on by 4 screws that require an eyeglass screwdriver to remove - because I wasn't aware of this, I had to beast it and ripped the plastic out from behind the screws.

Then when I got to the removal of the first ribbon cable, I was perplexed by the fact that on my ipod there is no latch like in the instructions. I ended up just taking a chance and pulling on that first ribbon cable until it came out, then luckily when it came time to put it back in I just made sure to line it up straight and pushed it back in. This is the cable for the aux jack, so I tested it by plugging in some headphones after reassembly and confirmed it does still work.

Update instructions with variations. It sounds like I'm not the only one who's ipod was different than the one used to make the instructions. It should also be mentioned that the new battery has its own adhesive, and you need to remove the protective backing to expose this adhesive - that part was a little unclear
