Mijn probleem
My iPad and my 2 years old son had a disagreement.
My son won the fight, leaving my iPad with a sad and shattered face...
Mijn oplossing
Great success, after a lot of struggle.
The glass was shattered, so the suction cup was more or less useless. I tried to tape it up with wide packing tape, but this did not help any. So I used the iOpener alot, and had to pry, tear and break the broken front panel away. Luckily, the touch sensor film behind the glass helps alot!
After this it was more or less just to follow the guide.
Mijn advies
- Alcohol swabs and/or alcohol and Q-tips come in handy to remove old glue from the frame.
- The LCD-display can be cleaned for fingermarks or other spots, using first a damp, lint free cloth, then polished to stainless finish, using a new cloth of the kind you clean your glasset with, OR as I used, the cloth that Apple provides for cleaning screens on your MacBook.
- If you struggle with re-inserting the Home Button ribbon cable connector, shaving the edge of each corner with a nail cutter can help. But be very careful not to cut only in the plastic ribbon, and not into the traces.
