I wanted to upgrade my Apple iMac from 2 to 8 GB to speed it up because I was experiencing a lot of swapping.

Mijn oplossing

I ordered 2x PC2-5300 4 GB RAM chips on iFixit to replace the 2x 1 GB in my iMac.

At first it did not work, the iMac would not boot, and Ryan from iFixit advised that my computer could not take more than 6 GB of RAM according to this article: http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/im...

So I left in 4+1 GB which is decent enough and returned the other 4 GB to iFixit. The return shipment is in process...
