2009 MacBook Pro Left Fan Repair
Mijn probleem
It was a dark and...no, seriously, here is what was going on. The room was silent and all thru the house, nothing as making a noise. Then out of nowhere, there was this clatter! " What can that be? " I asked my self as I sat at my desk with my MacBook Pro to my left. Holy moly! I exclaimed. It was the fan in my MacBook Pro making all this noise! So I logged into iFix It and looked up what I needed and ordered the correct part and had it shipped. A repair is on its way!

Since I ordered the iFix iT tool set for a previous repair ( 2007 iMac hard drive replacement ) it went rather smoothly. I took the back of the MacBook Pro off ( being very careful not to loose the very tiny screws! ) and set it aside. I unscrewed the faulty fan, and then disconnected the power cable to the fan. Took the fan out and set the new on in place, put the tiny screws back in that and connected the power cable. Then placed the back, back on and put all the tiny screws back on that. Booted the computer and its been operating quietly ever since!
Mijn advies
I would say to watch where you put the vert tiny screws. They are easy to loose. I set mine on a sheet of printing paper so it made it easier to see the black screws on the white surface. Take you time too. It may be simple looking, but if pulling too hard on the power cable to the fan from the logic board, you can have a bigger repair in store. Or using the wrong sized driver bits can ruin the special screw heads that Apple uses so use the proper set of tools. Other than that, have fun!
