How I saved the battery of my iPhone 5...and killed the screen while doing so

Mijn probleem

The battery drained relatively quickly, though still at an acceptable level but the status percentage was simply not reliable: every now and then it would switch off even though there were meant to be 30+ % remaining.

Mijn oplossing

The Kit itself is great and works as it should. Unfortunately (for me) I didn't have to pry when trying to open the phone - the entire front assembly came off in one piece, which then resulted in a damaged flex cable I guess. After re-assembling the phone, the screen did show vertical white and grey stripes that would not disappear even if I opened the phone again and tried to better connect the cable to the socket. In the end only a new screen / front assembly helped, so I saved money on the battery but spent it on a screen instead. Cannot blame the fix kit and instructions though.

It just was a very bad case for me and I wanted to put this up as a warning for others: please pay attention and be prepared for surprises such as the screen coming off easier than you'd expect it to.
