10 - 30 minuten
Was given a 4S 64GB as a gift. The gifter stated that they upgraded to the newest version. No biggie.
After a couple of weeks, realized that the fully charged battery only lasted about 6 hours ... whether being used or not.
My boss at work asked me to replace his wife's iPad screen, if he bought the parts. "We can do that ?!? Sure, why not. I'll give it a try."
He purchased the parts from IFIXIT and off we went.
Followed the tutorial .. all good.
Well ... that opened up a whole new world. I already fix all of my automobile issues ... now my electronics ?!?!?!?
Life is now been opened.
Knowing that the iPad screen was replaced by a mere mortal, I thought ... a battery ? That should be a piece of cake.
Sure enough ... bought the kit from you guys and "wallah" ... dishes are done, man!
Tutorial was good.
Had my laptop on in front of me, while doing it.
Spread a white dishtowell on the table.
Flipped the light on bright ... went at it.
Only problem ... after it was all apart, I picked it up to show my son what the innards of an iPhone look like ... and the small black/copper grounding piece slid out of place.
Had to look up Google Images for the exact placement (2-3 minutes)
However, all in all ... from light switch to power up ... 30 minutes.
... and that was only that long because i noticed how dirty my case was ... nasty.
Read through the tutorial several times over the days before before sitting down and attempting the repair.
You need to be familiar and comfortable with what you are doing.
Spread out a soft white cloth.
Use a bright light.
Keep your laptop handy if you have any "mmmm" moments.
If you have ever heard "bull in a china shop" when folks are talking about you, I would recommend that you not attempt this.
Go and find that slow and steady, patient friend that always drives you nuts, because he likes to map out his day.
