Battery stopped charging, would not even show to be connected

Mijn probleem

First, my phone died within a couple of hours of taking it off the charger. When I connected it to charge, it would alternate showing connected/not connected. Finally it would not take a charge at all, my phone became an expensive paper weight.

Mijn oplossing

After searching online and finding nothing helpful, I felt like I was stuck buying a new phone. Later, when I told a friend, he told me it sounded like I needed a new battery and to go to Ifixit.

I got the battery, replaced it myself, and the phone was ALIVE! But when I connected it to a charger, still wouldn't connect well. Got on your website, found the problem, (corroded dock...I cleaned it first..but still no charge) and ordered the part. Then when the part came in my 14 year old son replaced it for me.

It worked perfectly!!!! Hooray Ifixit!

Yes.....

1. Don't keep your IPhone in the bottom of your purse where it can get corroded and full of gunk.

2. If you do, and it gets corroded and full of gunk, go first to Ifixit to find, and solve, the problem.
