10 - 30 minuten
Dropped my 4s and it showed the "blue streaks" on the screen. After inquiring I found ou this was a busted display chip. My local repair guy said he nolonger did 4s' - so I figured I would do it myself.
1 hour for disassembly and 1 for assembly. Some of the tricky parts. The battery is soft - If did not have a replacement, I would have been more careful. I had to remove the Audio jack to remove the corner screw (Step 32). On step 22 - I got confused with the images. I did not realize at first I had to remove the tape to expose the screw. I thought it was stripped !!
Take your time!! Get the extra battery while you have the thing opened. The only tool missing would be a tweezer - get one! Be carefull of the clips - step 5,
Step 13 - it slides upwards, but the bottom edge of the right hand part hooks under just a little - so follow what they say.
When putting back the logic board - make sure all the connectors are clear. I had screwed down the WiFi connector and had to remove the board again.
Step 30 - My tape stayed stuck on the original display - not a bad thing, just a small panic while I thought I had lost it.
