cracked screen from "carpet" drop

Mijn probleem

I am in charge of all the cell phones for our company. Our sales guy dropped his phone on the carpet at one of our other locations (he has witnesses). The drop caused the screen to crack, in an otter box defender case.

Mijn oplossing

Repair went fairly easy, however if I knew about the "jimmy" I would have bought that. IF you are performing this repair on a 5s like I was, get this tool. Search on iFixit.

All in all the replacement for the 5s went well. The instructional video was really nice and I like the lady that explains how to do it. It would be good to explain how to open if you don't have all the awesome iFixit tools.

Mijn advies

Note: suction cup that came with kit was not strong enough to pull the glass up alone, and plastic pry tool did nothing to help. In the end, I used a tiny flat head screw driver to gently pry up the screen from the home button end. This worked without the use of the suction cup.

I actually had to refer to a youtube search where I saw some guy using a home made "jimmy" type tool to pry the screen.
