Mijn probleem

My Macbook is over 6 years old now, unbelievably, but it was running pretty slowly. I tried a few other ways to boost the speed like cleaning caches and deleting lots of unnecessary library files but it didn't last long. Finally decided to upgrade the RAM in hopes of getting the best performance for minimal cost during my last year of grad school.

Mijn oplossing

Went pretty well. I got everything taken apart just fine but a little trouble installing the new RAM cards (2GB RAM each, 5300) because you really have to push them in pretty hard to get them to click. At first I didn't push them far enough in and tried to restart and got an obnoxious beeping sound when i tried to boot up. Then I watched a youtube video of a guy who said you really had to push it in, and once I copied his technique both cards went in very nicely.

Mijn advies

Instead of facing the RAM slots towards you and installing the cards into it, try rotating the laptop 180 degrees and pinch the RAM cards into the slot. So thumbs closest to you pushing on the outer casing, and then 2 or 3 fingers on the RAM card pulling it into the machine. This should take a little force but will pop in quite easily.
