The Problem- Battery life (bad batter/dead cell)
Reason for fix: To resolve battery life issues.
My battery life was to the point where I couldn't be untethered from a power cable longer than about 30 minutes - 1 hour.
The battery indicator would deplete in bulks, from 100% -48% within just a few minutes of being fully charged.
This was intermittent as some days it seemed to hold a charge better than other days.
Sometimes when it would reach 20% the phone would give me the warning, and then a second or two later shut itself off.
I took the phone to an apple store. They verified the battery was bad, but that it was out of warranty.
I've gone through iFixit before on previous iphone models, and I was actually kind of reluctant because one of their earlier versions of the site, kind of made things seem a little easier than they were.
With the difficulty ratings they have now, it's easier to make a better judgement before beginning repair.
After following the repair step by step I'd give this fix a 100% charge.
It has resolved my problem.
The instructions were on spot, and everything is great!
I'm experienced in the tech field. I break things down all the time, but did need instruction through this.
Follow the instructions listed step by step.
Take caution where it says take caution.
Buy some of the recommended tools.
I purchased a repair kit that came with some cheap repair tools, but if I would've had some of their recommended pry tools it would've made things a lot easier.
Approximate fix time 30 minutes.
Don't be impatient. Cables can and will snap causing you to have to replace additional parts.
