Son's iPhone 4

Mijn probleem

My son was devastated when he accidentally dropped his iPhone 4 on his was to a party to celebrate his last baseball game for the season and his last coach pitch game. He went to hug his mother and the iPhone slipped from his hand landing face down in a gravel parking lot. The screen cracked in a number of places, but was still usable. After finding this site and the instructions and the parts, decided to replace the screen.

Mijn oplossing

The taking apart went rather smooth although could have had a bit more space to better keep the parts together as they were removed. Once I got the screen out, the real fun began in having to reverse the steps. I kept getting distracted and had to back step a number of times due to things just not working right. Almost lost some of the screws a couple times as they are very small and difficult to put back in place. However, I was able to get the iPhone put back together and it started right up. Can't say that I am in a hurry to do it again, but can do so, if the need should arise.

Mijn advies

Would be nice to have magnetic tools to help in putting them back in. Make sure you have plenty of light and can see everything clearly. Work on a smooth surface and not on any carpet, as it would be very difficult to locate a dropped screw in any carpet.
