Tip for removing EMI shields

  • Use this method to remove any EMI shields necessary during your repair:

  • Use one tip of a pair of angled tweezers to pry up the EMI shield from the gaps between the "teeth."

  • Repeat this procedure at different points around the perimeter of the shield until it is free.

  • Try not to deform the shields too much—you will need to reinstall them during reassembly.

  • To reinstall, correct any deformations to the best of your ability, make sure the "teeth" align with the rim on the motherboard, and press down on the entire perimeter of the EMI shield.

  • Make sure all "teeth" are snug to the metal rim and not bent underneath the EMI shield.

Tip voor het verwijderen van EMI-schilden

Gebruik deze methode om alle EMI-schilden die je tijdens reparaties tegenkomt te verwijderen:

Gebruik de punt van een pincet om het EMI-schild, vanaf de opening tussen twee "tanden", omhoog te tillen.

Herhaal deze procedure op verschillende punten langs de buitenkant van het schild totdat deze helemaal los is gekomen.

Probeer het schild niet te veel te vervormen aangezien je deze weer terug zult moeten plaatsen bij het weer in elkaar zetten van je toestel.

Om het schild weer terug te kunnen plaatsen, corrigeer je alle vervormingen die het schild bevat, zorg je dat de "tanden" op één lijn komen te zitten met de rand van het moederbord en druk je het schild langs de gehele buitenkant omlaag.

Zorg dat alle "tanden" strak tegen de metalen rand aan zitten en niet per ongeluk onder het schild gebogen zijn.
