Separate the bottom edge adhesive

  • Apply a suction cup to the back of the phone, as close to the center of the bottom edge as possible.

  • If the back cover is badly cracked, covering it with a layer of clear packing tape may allow the suction cup to adhere. Alternatively, very strong tape may be used instead of the suction cup. If all else fails, you can superglue the suction cup to the broken cover.

  • Pull on the suction cup with strong, steady force to create a gap between the back cover and the frame.

  • Insert the point of an opening pick into the gap.

  • Due to tight tolerances, this may take multiple attempts of reheating with the iOpener and separating with the suction cup before you get it right.

  • If you are having trouble creating a gap, apply more heat to the edge and try again.

  • Do not apply excessive force with the pick, or you risk cracking the back cover glass.

Druk een zuignap op de achterkant van de telefoon, zo dicht mogelijk bij het midden van de onderkant.

Als je scherm gebarsten is, kun je het beplakken met een laag doorzichtige tape, zodat de zuignap zich daarop vast kan zuigen. Als alternatief kun je in plaats van de zuignap ook sterke tape gebruiken. Als dat ook niet lukt, kun je de zuignap aan het scherm vastlijmen met secondelijm.

Trek de zuignap met een stevige, constante kracht omhoog om zo een opening tussen het achterste paneel en het frame te creëren.

Steek de punt van een openingsplectrum in de zojuist gecreëerde opening.

Het kan zijn dat het creëren van deze opening een aantal pogingen zal kosten. Blijf daarom net zo lang deze stap herhalen totdat het op subtiele wijze lukt, zonder dingen te forceren.

Als je nog steeds moeite hebt met het creëren van een opening, verwarm je het toestel nog een keer en probeer je het nog eens.
