  • Apply a suction cup to the display glass, as close to the center of the top edge as possible.

  • If your display is badly cracked, covering it with a layer of clear packing tape may allow the suction cup to adhere. Alternatively, very strong tape may be used instead of the suction cup. If all else fails, you can superglue the suction cup to the broken screen.

  • Pull on the suction cup with strong, steady force to create a gap between the display glass and the frame.

  • Insert the point of an opening pick into the gap in the center of the earpiece speaker notch, working it downwards underneath the display.

  • Ensure the pick slides over the front-facing camera and is not pushing against it.

  • Due to the stubborn adhesive, this may take multiple attempts of reheating with the iOpener and separating with the suction cup before you get it right.

  • If you are having trouble creating a gap, apply more heat to the edge and try again.

  • Leave your pick in the seam to prevent the adhesive from reasealing.

Druk een zuignap op het scherm, zo dicht mogelijk bij het midden van de bovenkant.

Als je scherm gebarsten is, kun je het beplakken met doorzichtige tape zodat de zuignap zich vast kan zuigen. Als alternatief kun je sterke tape gebruiken in plaats van de zuignap. Als dat alles niet lukt, kun je de zuignap op het scherm vastlijmen met secondelijm.

Trek de zuignap met een stevige, constante druk omhoog om een kleine opening te creëren tussen het scherm en het frame.

Steek de punt van een openingsplectrum in de opening, in het midden van de inkeping van de oorstukspeaker, en duw deze verder naar binnen onder het scherm.

Door de stugge lijm kan dit een aantal pogingen, waarbij je het scherm verwarmt met je iOpener en de zuignap omhoog trekt, kosten voordat het lukt.

Als je moeite hebt met het creëren van een opening, dien je meer warmte toe aan de bovenkant en probeer je het nog eens.

Laat je plectrum in de naad zitten om te voorkomen dat de lijm zich opnieuw gaat hechten.
