Remove the screen

  • The next steps show how to remove the heavily glued screen from the phone. While it is possible to replace the top glass alone, it is very difficult to accomplish without damaging the LCD.

  • Apply a heated iOpener to the left edge of the phone for two minutes.

  • A hair dryer, heat gun, or hot plate may also be used. Since you don't need to worry about overheating the battery or screen, you can apply more heat than usual.
