Insert an opening pick

  • Heat an iOpener and apply it to the same edge of the phone for two minutes.

  • Apply a suction cup to the back of the phone, as close to the center of the right edge as possible (where the adhesive is narrowest).

  • Pull on the suction cup with strong, steady force to create a gap between the back cover and the frame.

  • Insert the point of an opening pick into the gap.

  • Due to tight tolerances and strong adhesive, multiple attempts may be necessary to create a gap for the opening pick.

  • If you are having trouble creating a gap, the adhesive isn't weakened enough. Make sure you have heated the edge until just barely too hot to touch try this step again.

  • You can try applying a few drops of high concentration (over 90%) isopropyl alcohol into the seam to help loosen the adhesive.

  • Do not apply excessive force with the pick, or you will risk cracking the back cover glass.

Een openingsplectrum gebruiken

Verwarm een iOpener en leg deze op dezelfde kant van de telefoon gedurende twee minuten.

Zet vervolgens een zuignap op de achterkant van de telefoon, zo dicht mogelijk bij het midden van de rechterzijde (waar de lijm het dunst is).

Trek met een stevige en gelijkmatige kracht aan de zuignap om een opening te creëren tussen het frame en de achterkant.

Steek de punt van een openingsplectrum in de zojuist gecreëerde opening.

Door de stevigheid van het frame, kan het zijn dat dit een aantal pogingen kost.

Als het je veel moeite kost om een opening te creëren, is de beste optie om de zijkant van de telefoon nog meer te verwarmen en de vorige stap te herhalen. Het glas is warm genoeg wanneer het bijna te heet is om comfortabel aan te raken.

Je kunt ook proberen een aantal druppels hoog geconcentreerde (>90%) isopropyl alcohol in de opening te gebruiken, zodat de lijm wat verzacht wordt.

Gebruik geen excessieve kracht met je plectrum aangezien dit een barst in de glazen achterkant zou kunnen veroorzaken.
