Alternative method to unstick the battery from the case

  • If any of the adhesive strips broke off and the battery remains stuck to the rear case, prepare an iOpener or use a hair dryer to heat the rear case directly behind the battery. This will help soften the adhesive.

  • Heat the iPhone until the rear case is slightly too hot to comfortably touch. Don't overheat the iPhone, or you may accidentally ignite the battery.

  • Flip the iPhone back over and thread a strong piece of string (such as dental floss or a length of thin guitar string) underneath the battery.

  • Wrap the ends of the string around a cloth (or wear gloves) to protect your fingers.

  • Pull the string from side to side in a sawing motion all along the length of the battery to separate the adhesive. This can take some time since the adhesive is slow to deform, but with patience it will come free. Do not deform or damage the battery.

  • If you choose to use pry tools to lift the battery out of the iPhone, use extreme caution or you may damage the ribbon cables or the wireless charging coil directly underneath the battery.

Alternatieve methode om de batterij uit de behuizing te verwijderen

Als één van de kleefstrips is afgebroken en de batterij nog steeds vastzit aan de achterste behuizing, verwarm je een iOpener of gebruik je een föhn om de achterste behuizing direct achter de batterij te verwarmen. Dit helpt bij het verzachten van de lijm.

Verwarm de iPhone totdat de achterste behuizing net te heet is om vast te pakken. Oververhit de iPhone echter niet, omdat het kan zijn dat de batterij in brand vliegt.

Draai de iPhone weer om en rijg een sterk stuk draad (zoals flosdraad of een deel van een gitaarsnaar) onder de batterij door.

Wikkel de uiteinde van je draad om een stuk doek (of draag handschoenen) om zo je vingers te beschermen.

Trek de draad in een zagende beweging heen en weer langs de gehele lengte van de batterij om zo de lijm los te krijgen. Dit kan even duren, aangezien de lijm vaak langzaam meegeeft, maar met geduld moet het lukken. Vervorm of beschadig de batterij niet.

Als je ervoor kiest om wriktools te gebruiken om de batterij uit de iPhone te duwen, wees dan extra voorzichtig aangezien je de lintkabels of de draadloze oplaadspoel direct onder de batterij kunt beschadigen.
