Alternative method to unstick the battery from the case

  • If any of the adhesive strips broke off and the battery remains stuck to the rear case, prepare an iOpener or use a hair dryer to heat the rear case directly behind the battery. This will help soften the adhesive.

  • Heat the iPhone until the rear case is slightly too hot to comfortably touch. Don't overheat the iPhone, or you may accidentally ignite the battery.

  • Flip the iPhone back over and thread a strong piece of string (such as dental floss or a length of thin guitar string) underneath the battery.

  • Wrap the ends of the string around a cloth (or wear gloves) to protect your fingers.

  • Pull the string from side to side in a sawing motion all along the length of the battery to separate the adhesive. This can take some time since the adhesive is slow to deform, but with patience it will come free. Do not deform or damage the battery.

  • If you choose to use pry tools to lift the battery out of the iPhone, use extreme caution or you may damage the ribbon cables or the wireless charging coil directly underneath the battery.

Méthode alternative pour décoller la batterie

Si une des bandes adhésives s'est déchirée et que la batterie reste coincée dans la coque arrière, préparez un iOpener ou servez-vous d'un sèche-cheveux pour faire chauffer la coque arrière derrière la batterie. Cela contribuera à ramollir l'adhésif.

Chauffez l'iPhone jusqu'à ce que la coque arrière soit légèrement trop chaude au toucher. Ne le faites pas trop chauffer, la batterie risquerait de prendre feu.

Retournez l'iPhone et faites glisser une ficelle solide (du fil dentaire ou une fine corde de guitare par exemple) sous la batterie.

Enroulez un chiffon autour des bouts de la ficelle (ou portez des gants) pour protéger vos doigts.

Tirez la ficelle d'un côté puis de l'autre, dans un mouvement de scie, et ce tout le long de la batterie, pour faire céder l'adhésif. Cela risque de prendre du temps, car l'adhésif cède lentement. Soyez patient et vous en viendrez à bout. Ne déformez ni endommagez la batterie.

Si vous choisissez d'utiliser des outils à levier pour soulever la batterie hors de l'iPhone, faites extrêmement attention, vous risquez d'endommager les nappes ou la bobine de recharge sans fil, qui se trouvent juste au-dessous de la batterie.
