SKILL: Fastening zippers by hand

Application - Many repair techniques require split zippers to be refastened before the fix is applied. To achieve this, the zipping function of slider can be mimicked by hand.
Skill - Begin where the zipper teeth first start to split and use your fingers to manipulate the teeth back together (reference the video in Step 10).
Use a safety pin through the tape to capture progress and to keep the zipper from re-separating (reference image #2).
A FixnZip is a handy tool that can also be used to fasten a section of zipper back together (reference image #3).
