• Open the pie maker.
• Remove four 4 mm screws holding the crescent-shaped black plastic plate in place with a Phillips #1 screwdriver.
• Remove the black crescent-shaped plastic plate.

• Repeat the previous step to remove the upper black crescent-shaped plastic plate from the upper half of the unit.
• The pie maker's symmetrical construction may cause confusion—in this image the pie maker is resting on its upper half.

• Remove the four 4 mm screws located directly on either side of the hinges with a Phillips #1 screwdriver.
• Successfully removed screws will allow for the separation of the pan component from the outer plastic shell.

• Remove the final two 4 mm screws from the circular black plastic bottom base plate with a Phillips #1 screwdriver.
• Remove the black plastic base.

• Disconnect the two red and green incandescent lights from their fixtures by popping them out of their red plastic cradles.

• If desired, remove insulatory coated paper cut outs to more easily access heating coils.

• Examine electronics schematic.
• The Sunbeam Pie Maker utilizes four heating coils to bring miniature pies to an internal temperature of 175+ F. The pies are placed in the appliance after pre-heating, and are cooked for approximately 10 minutes, or until golden brown. The machine begins pre-heating upon being plugged in, signifying it is receiving power with the red light.
