Wat je nodig hebt

  1. Motorola Moto G7 Plus Screen Replacement, Screen: stap 1, afbeelding 1 van 2 Motorola Moto G7 Plus Screen Replacement, Screen: stap 1, afbeelding 2 van 2
    • Insert an opening pick under the screen, starting at the top of the phone.

    • Work the pick along the edges of the phone, removing adhesive from these parts of the screen.

    • There is a cable on the right side of the phone (the side with the volume buttons), which connects the screen to the rest of the phone. Be careful not to sever this cable.

    • Once enough adhesive has been removed, you should be able to separate the screen, gently lifting from the left side of the phone.

    • While not necessary, applying a heat gun will weaken the adhesive, making this step easier.

  2. Motorola Moto G7 Plus Screen Replacement: stap 2, afbeelding 1 van 2 Motorola Moto G7 Plus Screen Replacement: stap 2, afbeelding 2 van 2
    • Remove the three 2.7 mm screws that surround the base of the cable using the Torx T5 screwdriver.

    • Once the screws have been removed, gently remove the metal piece that covers the base of the cable.

  3. Motorola Moto G7 Plus Screen Replacement: stap 3, afbeelding 1 van 2 Motorola Moto G7 Plus Screen Replacement: stap 3, afbeelding 2 van 2
    • Use the pointy end of the spudger to lift the metal casing where circled.

    • The device is rotated 90 degrees Counterclockwise from original orientation.

  4. Motorola Moto G7 Plus Screen Replacement: stap 4, afbeelding 1 van 2 Motorola Moto G7 Plus Screen Replacement: stap 4, afbeelding 2 van 2
    • Underneath this metal piece is the base of the cable. Use your pick or spudger to pop off the base of the cable.

    • The screen will be detached from the device.

    • The device is rotated 180 degrees from original orientation.

Althrough a simple fix, one should be weary if the glass is shattered. I just did this, and there were a few spliters left on the adhesive, and of course sticking to it. So if you want to replace your screen due to broken glass, make sure to wear protection and remove the splinters carefully, otherwise you may be tempted to press on the new display to strongly, because you want to stick it to the whole brim.

I completed this fix, and it wasn’t too bad. Just watch out when gluing back the screen not to put glue over the microphone hole at the bottom. This would be the phone microphone mouthpiece, you can see a small notch on the bottom of the screen, beside the “motorola” “m” on the front . I put glue there without knowning and the microphone is now very muted.
