Inleiding

The Motorola Moto G7 Plus (model XT1965) features a 3000 mAh Li-Ion battery. If a user has had the phone for a long time, the phone will lose its charge at a much faster rate and lose capacity than when it was new and the battery may need to be replaced. If troubleshooting doesn’t work, use this guide to remove the battery from the Motorola Moto G7 Plus.

This guide teaches how to remove the battery with a prerequisite for taking out the screen. This guide minimizes the number of steps a user would have to take to replace the battery.

Before beginning the repair, make sure the device is turned off, disconnected from any external power sources and discharge 25% of the device’s battery life for safety. Gather the suggested tools listed below and a new Motorola Moto G7 Plus battery.

  1. Insert an opening pick under the screen, starting at the top of the phone. Work the pick along the edges of the phone, removing adhesive from these parts of the screen.
    • Insert an opening pick under the screen, starting at the top of the phone.

    • Work the pick along the edges of the phone, removing adhesive from these parts of the screen.

    • There is a cable on the right side of the phone (the side with the volume buttons), which connects the screen to the rest of the phone. Be careful not to sever this cable.

    • Once enough adhesive has been removed, you should be able to separate the screen, gently lifting from the left side of the phone.

    • While not necessary, applying a heat gun will weaken the adhesive, making this step easier.

  2. Remove the three 2.7 mm screws that surround the base of the cable using the Torx T5 screwdriver. Once the screws have been removed, gently remove the metal piece that covers the base of the cable.

bricked, the display is not recognized anymore after re-attaching

as an additional information: my phone is bricked, because i severed a connection of the display, which is located at the bottom of the phone - you should only enter the pick up to a depth of ~ 2-3mm at the bottom!
